VISION & PRIORITIES

As the current mayor of Soap Lake, I am passionately dedicated to the well-being and revitalization of our community a true gem, renowned for its extraordinary therapeutic mineral waters and vibrant, welcoming spirit. Throughout my time in office, I have delivered proven results by securing key infrastructure improvements, supporting local businesses, and fostering community events that bring us together.

My foremost objective continues to be the promotion of sustainable tourism—one that honors our town’s unique heritage while generating economic growth that benefits every resident. Under my leadership, we have taken meaningful steps to enhance our visibility as a destination, while protecting the natural and cultural assets that make Soap Lake truly special.

With your continued support, I am committed to building on this progress to ensure Soap Lake remains a place of healing, connection, and opportunity for generations to come

A Transparent, Accountable Mayor

I believe leadership must be visible, honest, and responsive. That’s why I will continue to hold regular community meetings, ensuring every resident has a voice in our city’s future. As mayor, I lead with a clear vision that prioritizes the needs and well-being of our community. I am committed to being accessible and responsive, actively listening to your concerns and addressing them thoughtfully. Transparency and accountability guide my actions because I know trust is built through open communication and ethical leadership. By managing our resources wisely and making informed decisions, I will ensure that Soap Lake’s growth is sustainable and benefits everyone. I will also advocate tirelessly for our community, working to secure support and opportunities that enhance the quality of life for every resident.

1. Establish the Soap Lake Passport Center by End of 2025
This project is currently in development and will serve as a sustainable revenue source for the City of Soap Lake. The Passport Center aims to reduce the financial burden of high utility taxes on residents while helping to fund critical infrastructure upgrades.

2. Modernize Public Works Facilities & Water Treatment Center
We are actively pursuing state and federal grants to overhaul our aging Public Works infrastructure — some of which is over 50 years old. These upgrades will ensure the safety and reliability of our wastewater systems and public drinking water, while improving overall service to our community.

3. Expand Parks and Recreation Opportunities
Exciting improvements are underway to enhance our parks system. These include the installation of new playground equipment (funded by county grants), the addition of two new family-friendly dog parks, and environmental upgrades to our lakeside areas. Through persistent advocacy, we have secured approval from the Department of Ecology to import clean, beautiful sand for our beaches and make much-needed enhancements to existing playgrounds.

Building for the Future

Coming soon: The City of Soap Lake Passport Center
Set to launch by the end of 2025, this initiative will:

  • Create a new and sustainable revenue stream

  • Support local economic growth

  • Help ease the tax burden on residents

  • Serve both locals and visitors in a welcoming, community-focused environment

Rebuilding Trust & Infrastructure

We’ve come a long way in restoring trust and stability. During my time in office:

  • We’ve reached unprecedented financial strength, with projections through 2063

  • City Hall is fully staffed, union-supported, and equipped with fair wages and family benefits

  • Our Police Department is nearly fully staffed, led by a chief with 26 years of experience

  • For the first time in years, Public Works is at full strength, with modern equipment upgrades in progress

We’re working to secure funding for a new city well, upgrade our wastewater systems, and improve essential services that directly impact daily life.

Supporting Families & Improving Quality of Life

A revitalized Soap Lake means more than just numbers—it means investing in people. We’re actively:

  • Enhancing local parks and public spaces

  • Securing grants for new playground equipment

  • Improving beaches and adding beautiful, family-friendly sand

  • Developing two new dog parks for residents and visitors to enjoy

Top 5 Goals I am working on now!

  1. Launch the Passport Center to diversify revenue and ease utility burdens

  2. Upgrade Public Works and Water Treatment facilities, replacing aging infrastructure ( Legislative Earmarked Capital Funding for new City Well )

  3. Invest in Parks and Recreation to enrich community life for all generations ( New Playgrounds Coming Soon! )

  4. Council Chambers full remodel and upgrades / Youth outreach Center

  5. I am working on Legislative Earmarked Capital Funding to pave all gravel roads and sidewalks/proper water Street Drainage System Upgrades.
